As of July 1, 2017, the Center for Applied Community Engagement has taken ownership of two initiatives that were launched and have previously been maintained by San José, California-based digital engagement consultancy Intellitics, Inc.
The first one is ParticipateDB, an open online catalogue for digital engagement tools and services and the most comprehensive resource of its kinds in the world today. ParticipateDB was launched in September 2009.
The second one is the Online Facilitation Unconference (OFU), a week-long online convening on the art and practice of facilitating in virtual environments. OFU was launched in August/September 2013. This year marks the fourth time the event will take place. Once again, it will happen alongside International Facilitation Week, October 16-22, 2017.
These two initiatives come in addition to the two we have been pursuing since our launch in January of this year:
EngagePhase is a new publishing service covering the emerging global community engagement and public participation industry. Our first product is EngagePhase Weekly, a premium weekly email newsletter currently in closed beta and on track to launching to the public sometime after Labor Day in September.
And last but not least, EngageCamp is a concept for a fun, in-person practitioner learning day or weekend. The inaugural event is expected to take place sometime in 2018, most likely in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We are thrilled to be moving forward on all four initiatives and will have more announcements to share over the coming weeks and months.
Please visit the various sites for options to stay in the loop (email newsletter, social media).
